Opportunity

For the 2018 season, Microsoft partnered with five NFL superstars – Von Miller, Richard Sherman, Martellus Bennett, Greg Olsen, and Russell Wilson – to tell powerful stories of how they work to Create Change in their local communities. As part of the campaign, Wasserman Media Group turned to Future Colossal to create a helmet design application that would inspire creativity and community across the country.

Innovation

Exclusive to Microsoft Stores and powered by Microsoft Surface, our app lets individuals create and customize a digital 3D helmet inspired by their favorite NFL player’s foundation. Within the experience, users have access to information about the players and their charitable foundations, the helmet design tool, and social share functionality so that they can send their designs out into the world and inspire others. The design tool’s intuitive features give fans of all ages the agency to showcase their creativity – an important consideration of the app as we aim to empower users to utilize their skills in new ways.

Event Activation

Available in Microsoft stores, this project was a key component of a Super Bowl LII event held at the Mall of America, where Larry Fitzgerald used the app to design his own customized 3D helmet. Fans were invited to create their own and by submitting their designs were automatically entered to win a trip to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta. Featured design submissions were shared on Microsoft.com and easily exported to social media to let fans share their creations and support great causes.
