Opportunity

As part of their #Priceless program, MasterCard sponsored the famous Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Show. MasterCard wanted to create a photo memento for shoppers to take their experience home, but a green screen would be a bulky, off-brand experience on the retail floor of Saks Fifth Avenue. Our solution? Redefine the greenscreen photo booth experience with proprietary algorithms that create the same effect...without the actual greenscreen.

Innovation

We engineered the Holiday Photo Booth to give shoppers a green screen photo experience without the unsightly green screen. Instead, our Holiday Photo Booth was designed to match the Saks Fifth Avenue’s upscale brand image. As shoppers approached the Photo Booth, they used a tablet to select 1 of 8 backgrounds for their photo; either of the Saks Fifth Avenue holiday storefront or one of their famous holiday storefront windows. 

Using custom background detection software, a depth sensor, and a whole lot of image processing, shoppers could see themselves augmented on the screen in real time and strike a pose. Photos could be emailed or texted for easy social sharing and were printed out on the spot for a fun holiday takeaway.
