Before entering the world of Squid Games, guests shed their human identities and receive a number ID bracelet (positional tracking device), enabling them to enter as no more than a number on a leaderboard. After greeting the iconic Front Man, guests face escalating challenges, accumulating points as they advance.
The experience cleverly blends various technologies, seamlessly integrated through creative scenic design. Hyper-precise motion tracking, Real-Time Location Systems, programmable dynamic lights, interactive LED floor tiles, and custom software create a challenging experience for Squid Games fans.
Squid Games: The Trials employs cutting-edge technology for automated gameplay and to create a never-before-seen experience. Real-Time Location System (RTLS) tags in player wristbands enable seamless competition for up to 40 players. The backend system, tracking players' locations and actions, ensures instant score updates as they progress through different games.
The experience integrates various sensing solutions for user-aware touch and motion tracking gameplay. LiDAR sensing, typically used in industrial settings, enables responsive surfaces to detect player actions swiftly. Stereo Vision Depth Sensing creates a 3D point cloud of the game space for full-body tracking and movement detection. Multiple depth sensors are fused in real time to allow this tracking to happen over large areas without ever losing track of players. AI/Machine Learning on depth and camera sensors identifies user bodies and skeletal movement for precise understanding of player actions during games, whether running, tossing marbles, or operating custom controls on Warships. Each action results in point gains or losses through their interactions.
In addition to intelligent sensing solutions, the experience employs various physical computing and immersive technologies to embed players in the world of Squid Games. Programmatically controlled theatrical lighting, dynamic content reflecting players' experiences, and a variety of unique display technologies enhance each room, driving the narrative and creating excitement during gameplay. Scenic props, embedded with sensors and microcontrollers, become interactive. Physical interfaces in props eliminate screens, promoting physical and social interactions. With intelligent sensing, immersive effects, and physical technologies, players fully inhabit the world of Squid Games.
